Wednesday night I photographed the
Bobby Dolan dinner at the Silver Legacy. Mostly grip and grins, nothing too exciting. Dinner was filet with shrimp; dessert, a slice of chocolate cake and a dipped strawberry.

Former Giant
J.T. Snow was the guest of honor. He was a nice guy—and easy to work with—but it was clear listening to him, he hasn't been on the
circuit long. Still, he had a few good stories. My least favorite being a
recount of his son's Little League All-Star team beating my Half Moon Bay boys for the district title. Boo Hillsborough. My favorite: did you know Snow is a "Hall-of-famer?" Well, sort of. There's a
picture of him saving Darren Baker in
Cooperstown. Yup. It's on a wall between the men's and ladies room.
The dinner is a fundraiser for the University of Nevada
baseball program. In the past, I've photographed speakers like
Tommy Lasorda,
Goose Gossage,
Jon Miller and
Will Clark.

In addition to the keynote, the dinner honors former Wolf Pack players who've made it to
the show. This year
Coach Gary Powers honored
Konrad Schmidt. Schmidt had his cup of coffee with the Arizona Diamondbacks last season. I photographed him the year before when he
played a few weeks in Reno.

And for the second year, the Wolf Pack and Reno Aces
announced a charity exhibition game between the two clubs. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the University of Nevada Dugout Club.
