Reno 11, Tacoma 9

I shot a few grounds crew features.

Reno returns home Thursday night after an eight-game road trip. They swept Memphis on the front end and as I write this are an inning deep into their fourth and final game against Nashville. The Sounds have a two game-to-one advantage after yesterday's double-header but Reno has a chance to even the series with Zach Kroenke on the mound.

UPDATE: after striking out swinging, Adam Eaton reached first on a drop third and went the 180 feet to third on a throwing error by Nashville catcher Martin Maldonado. He just scored when Jake Elmore grounded out to shortstop. So there you have it, 1-0 Reno. Go Aceball.

Back to blogging: I'm at the ballpark Thursday night and Sunday afternoon this week. Maybe a few games next. Missing out on the weekend action for my buddy Brian's bachelor party. He sometimes reads the blog so I won't give away any details but I'm looking forward to some wholesome fun.

Wink. Nod. Wink. Grin.

UPDATE: Aces blow a late lead. Lose the game 9-7 and the series.

I have a couple of corporate gigs in the next few days and some editorial I'm really excited about as well. Hope to share that work soon.

But this post—and the next few—are about baseball. Week old baseball: my favorite kind to write about. These images are from Friday, May 4. The Aces beat the Rainers 11-9 on Randy Ruiz's 9th inning, game-winning grand salame.

Enjoy.
