Reno wore "Protect our West" specialty jerseys Saturday night with auction proceeds benefitting the Wildland Firefighter Foundation. There was also a fireworks show.
I really liked the jerseys. One of the better designs we've had: the color scheme was sharp and the silhouetted firefighter on the flank looked cool. In addition, Smokey Bear and dozens of local fire departments were at the park.
Also, this is a good chance to mention Global Force Wrestling and its Aug. 22 show at Aces Ballpark. Jeff Jarrett, owner and founder of GFW—a new wrestling circuit—was at the ballpark promoting the upcoming event.
On the field, the Aces beat the 51s 8-5.
