Rhymes with curple.

Reno announced its renewed player development contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks Saturday night and wore purple throwback uniforms to honor Arizona's 2001 World Series Championship.

And they'll never wear purple again. Ever.

The Iowa Cubs scored 17 runs on 19 hits holding the Aces to just two.

The 19 hits allowed by Reno's staff matched a season-high set on April 18 at El Paso. The 17 runs surrendered were the most by an opponent since Las Vegas blasted Reno 19-2 on May 1, 2014 at Cashman Field.

The lone bright spot for the Aces' was catcher Brett Hayes who pitched in the final two innings. He recorded five outs and escaped a jam in the ninth after walking the bases loaded. His appearance on the mound was the first by a position player for Reno in 2016. And is my favorite thing that happens in baseball.

And in case you were wondering, a curple—in addition to being the only word that rhymes with purple—is a Scottish term for a horse's rump.
