Reno Bighorns 113, Bakersfield Jam 97

Mo Ch-Ch-Charlo.

The Reno Bighorns played their final regular season home game last night at the Reno Events Center. I shot for NBAE and filed to Getty Images again.

I'm still tweaking the lighting setup but am happy with the results—especially under the basket.

I had two Pocket Wizard channels going: one with a single strobe across from the visitor's bench pointed at the key and another with the remaining three lights. I liked the rim light on the three light setup especially. And the single light channel is fun to experiment with (even if it limits some of my favorite shooting positions).

And because the 'Horns broke a C-Note, fans in attendance won free gelato from Cafe Alfresco at the Atlantis. Always a crowd pleaser.

Bobby Simmons led six Bighorns in double figures with 25 on the night. Marcus Landry scored 19, Donald Sloan kicked-in 16 with nine assists, and Mo Charlo added 14 points and nine boards. The Bighorns out-rebounded Bakersfield 47-37, and Reno shot 48.9 percent from the floor. Bakersfield (29-20) was led by 34-point night from Willie Warren. Jeremy Wise added 28 for the Jam, as the duo accounted for better than 63 percent of Bakersfield’s total points.

After the game the Bighorns and Jam traveled to California for a Saturday night rematch at Jam Arena.

Going into the regular season finale, the Bighorns (33-16) hold first place in the Western Conference and are second overall in D-League standings.
